Unplag has released a commenting feature enabling educators to share their advice with students having submitted their papers through Unplag.
Online, June 29, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Unplag (unplag.com), an online plagiarism checker capable of spotting citations and references and adjusting search sensitivity, has announced the launch of a commenting feature in its standalone version. Available to all educators using Unplag within their university, department or faculty, the feature allows to add comments to any text parts of student submissions.
The moment the commenting feature is enabled, an educator can select a sentence or passage that needs some tweaks and type in a 1,500-character message suggesting grammar, stylistic or other types of corrections. For educators to quickly find comments to be edited or deleted, Unplag provides a separate list of them, which is easy-to-manage. Additionally, every comment is numbered and highlighted in pink.
"Student-focused learning is getting more and more popular currently. That's why we've made a decision to speed up the release of the functionality getting students more engaged in learning", said Anastasia Parokha, CEO at Unplag. "That was the main reason why the feature letting educators provide individual recommendations to every student has been added to Unplag. This is just the beginning. Other system upgrades to make learning more student-centered are on their way too."
Once educators post comments, students get notified and can view them in the read-only mode. The amount of comments each educator can leave is not restricted. The commenting feature is also available in a number of LMSs Unplag has been integrated with (Canvas, Moodle, and more).
The Unplag team previews more updates to be released this year including grammar checker and online editor. One of them is claimed to change the plagiarism search algorithm as we know it.
